Hampton Roads Boating Informtion
Hampton Roads is formed by the confluence of the James, Elizabeth and York Rivers as they meet the Chesapeake Bay. Thinking about visiting the Hampton Roads area by boat? We'll be glad to welcome you. The unique interaction between land and several major bodies of water makes our weather very dynamic. To help assure your safety, the National Weather Service has several NOAA Weather Radio stations which serve the area from which current, accurate weather information can be obtained. Also, be aware that the area supports a large military presence. Thus, there are a number of restrictions of which mariners need to be aware that are strictly enforced.
